There are many ways to botch your online credibility, but one of the best ways is to be deceitful. If you are so desperate that you claim your business opportunity will make people rich overnight, you may be seen as a scammer. Even though many people want to believe such claims, they all eventually come to the conclusion that you tricked them.
In order to keep your credibility intact, be open and honest about what it takes to be successful with your company. Let people know that it takes hard work in order to be successful. It also takes a lot of patience and doing things over and over before you begin to see results. For instance, you cannot place one ad and expect people to flock to you. Let them know that consistency is the key.
Promising overnight success gets you nowhere. In fact, one company representative promised that I could make about $750 in less than one week if I would just follow her instructions. After following them to the letter, I saw zero income. I questioned her about it, and she became very defensive and angry.
Do you think that I stayed with her company? Do you think that I would ever do business with her again? I am not sure what she hoped to accomplish by promising something that didn t materialize, but she lost all credibility with me. I wonder how many other people she has made these claims to, and how successful she is today.
The dollar amount that she promised I would make was not large, so I thought that it may be doable. I was wrong. It is perfectly acceptable to let prospects know what other people in your company have accomplished, but it is not okay to promise them that they will see the same results. We are all different, we all put forth a different amount of time and effort, and we all use different methods to build our businesses. All of these things are factors in our success.
Honesty and integrity are essential in network marketing. Those who don t believe it usually don t last very long. Once people figure out that someone has scammed them, the word gets around quickly. If you think that making wild promises will produce a huge downline for you, you should know that those people will not hang around for long.
They will figure out that things are not quite as easy as you led them to believe. They will soon realize that the money doesn t come as quickly as you said it would. You will be seen as a fraud, and your team members will leave for a better opportunity. They will not be so gullible the next time around. They will investigate the next opportunity more thoroughly.
Maintaining online credibility is the only way to be successful in the long-run. It is also the best way to gain respect for yourself and your business. You will eventually build a successful team of business builders that won t go anywhere. They will trust you and believe in the company. They will follow your lead and treat their team members with the same integrity.
If everyone in your company makes honesty and integrity a priority, prospective team members will recognize it. Your business will rise above the others who don t see the importance of telling it like it really is. Maintain your online credibility. Don t make false promises.
